A pair of brushes with thick retractable bristles for added projection.
The Vic Firth Rock Rakes were designed to bridge the gap between brushes and rods. The extra thick bristles are very stiff and can be used like jazz brushes but with the projection required for rockier genres.
The retractable bristles allow you to vary the spread and change your tone from washy brushes to more rigid rods.
