The MV5C plugs directly into a MAC or PC with supplied cables via USB, allowing the user to listen through the computer's built-in speaker, an external speaker or headphone output.

Settings can be viewed by checking the integrated LED panel on the top of the microphone. The MV5C default setting allows the user to listen through a computer's built-in speakers or headphone output. Playback mode can be activated to monitor directly via the headphone input.
