This is the first time ever that Ernie Ball has promoted a signature set into the famous Slinky range, for good. The Ernie Ball Silver Slinky set is here to stay!

Silver Slinky splits the difference between the famous Regular Slinky and Power Slinky sets that John Mayer has been using for decades. On a journey that started years ago, Ernie Ball needed to produce completely new gauges for this elite player and guitar strings set: 10.5, 13.5, 17.5, 27w, 37w, 47w.

The John Mayer signature Silver Slinky set has a lot of the character of the Slinky range, with smooth and bright nickel-plated steel wire and carbon steel hex core. However, the Silver Slinky gauge uses custom core:wrap ratios and completely new gauges to create a set with the soft feel, supple response, and tone that John Mayer demands.

To complete the set, the plain steels are reinforced at the ball-end with an over-wrap of bronze wire. These RPS strings provide greater tuning stability and durability under intense bending.

Ernie Ball Silver Slinky has been designed in conjunction with John Mayer to match his signature PRS Silver Sky guitar. Now you can use these strings too!
