Description
Black Lion’s renowned and hugely popular FET limiting amplifier and compressor comes storming to the modular 500-Series format.
The aptly named ‘Bluey’ from Black Lion Audio is a lovingly crafted recreation of Chris Lord Alge’s vintage blue-stripe 1176 from Mix LA Studios in California. Used on countless hits and hundreds of vocal takes, every feature and delightful quirk from the original Bluey has been recreated through tireless reverse engineering.
Among the most impressive components brought back to life are two custom Cinemag transformers that model the sound of the original UTC input and Reichenbach output transformers for an eerily accurate recreation.
Input/Output Buffering
Bluey 500’s Mix LA inspired input buffers Channel buffers are designed to exactly match the insert channel’s of Mix LA’s primary mixing console, delivering a top-shelf analogue console-flavour for every vocal, instrument of mix-bus track the Bluey is applied to.
Wet/Dry Mix Knob
Parallel compression - a modern feature added to Bluey by Black Lion A new feature added for Black Lion’s modern Bluey revision is the wet dry mix knob which allows users to dial in precisely the amount of parallel compression required to make a mix complete.
